With Texas kicking off action for the 2019 season, things will start getting interesting. Last week, the Composite Nos. 1 and 2 teams, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.), respectively, took care of business in their openers. The Monarchs began 2019 with a 42-12 win over Corona Centennial (Corona, Calif.), while DJ Uiagalelei threw for 300-plus yards in a 35-7 win over DMV power DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.).

This week's Composite No. 3s — there's a tie — both showed out last week. St Frances Academy (Baltimore) proved it will be a force all season with a 49-13 blowout win over Florida power Central (Miami). Meanwhile, St. John's (Washington, D.C.) rode the "Baby Bus" — 275-pound running back Antwain Littleton — to a 48-0 victory over Southridge (Miami).
