Willie Wood, Hall of Famer who played for Vince Lombardi’s Packers, dies at 83

Mr. Wood was a member of 2019 DCSAA High School Hall of Fame class

Willie Wood, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a safety on the great Green Bay Packers teams of the 1960s, died Monday at an assisted living facility in his native Washington, according to the Packers.

Wood had suffered from advanced stage dementia for about a decade, according to the team. He had been in assisted living facilities since at least 2007.

He was 83.
