Casually dribbling near the top of the key, Paul VI freshman Ashley Owusu saw all the space she needed. With a St. John’s defender hanging back early in the fourth quarter of a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference game on Tuesday night, the forward elevated and flicked her wrist.
Owusu’s shot fell without rubbing the rim, and the blasé expression on the forward’s face remained unchanged as the Panthers’ bench rose to cheer her.
