Georgetown Visitation sophomore Julianne Greenville did not get inserted into the starting lineup earlier this week solely because of the extra hours she’s been spending in the gym working on her shot. She owes that promotion, in part, to the injury sidelining one teammate and the fact that two others went on a religious retreat.
But as Greenville swished four moonshot three-pointers to ignite No. 11 Georgetown Visitation’s 61-44 win over O’Connell Saturday afternoon, Coach Mike McCarthy couldn’t help but wonder if happenstance might have produced just the tweak the Cubs’ girls’ basketball team needed to kick its sluggish offense into gear.
