Kyera Frank knew Wednesday would be different. She was done with the races when she broke too fast out of the gate only to lose steam and get passed in the final meters. She was over the times when she started well but made her push too early, again resulting in a disappointing finish.
From the moment the gun fired and the runners broke in the girls’ 1,600 meters at the D.C. State Athletic Association Championships at Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Complex, Frank’s execution was perfect.
