Tripped up on the way to the left sideline, Coby Davis regained his balance and reversed course. The Maret senior sidestepped one Theodore Roosevelt tackler, then slipped away from another. Aided by a block from teammate Jamal Glenn, he broke free down the right sideline, taking the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown and setting the tone for the Frogs’ 46-7 victory Saturday in the DC State Athletic Association Class A final.

“I know he likes to dance. I just kept watching him because he doesn’t go down easy,” said quarterback Garrison Burnett, who watched the opening touchdown from the sideline. “You got to wrap him up, you gotta hold onto him. It was exciting to see him score. It was a great way to open up the game.”
