National Cathedral girls’ soccer Coach Danielle Malagari warned her team it could be forced to play defense for a majority of Sunday’s Independent School League AA championship game against Potomac School. One player nonetheless came to the sideline during the second half and noted she “had never defended that long in her life.”
But an early goal made this defensive posture a viable option, and National Cathedral used it to pull out a 3-1 win over Potomac School at Episcopal.
