St. Albans senior Ryan Khosravi picked the ball up with both hands and kissed it before placing it back on the midfield line. The Bulldogs had just scored their second goal on as many shots, and Khosravi felt the need to show his appreciation.
“I needed to express my affection somehow,” he said.
Scoring chances were at a premium Thursday afternoon in the Interstate Athletic Conference final, but St. Albans made the most of its opportunities in a 2-0 victory over Landon in Northwest Washington. With the win, the Bulldogs claimed their second straight sweep of the IAC regular season and playoffs.
