The D.C. Public Charter School Athletic Association has canceled its football championship game this week in the aftermath of a fight involving Cesar Chavez and National Collegiate during the semifinal round last weekend.
After third-seeded Cesar Chavez upset No. 2 seed National Collegiate on Saturday, the two teams were involved in a post-game fight. According to city administrators, an altercation also marred their regular-season meeting in September. As a result, the D.C. State Athletic Association announced Monday that neither team would be allowed to play its next game since neither will have enough eligible players.
