Karen Diaz pointed to the line across the court and pumped her fist as soon as her serve was ruled an ace. The Wilson senior had already made several extended trips to the service line in Monday’s D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association volleyball final against School Without Walls. But this visit set the tone for a dominant fourth set as the Tigers avenged last year’s championship loss with a 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-16 victory.

“For me, it’s amazing. Last year I was on the bench and it was stressful,” Diaz said. “This year I went all out because I really wanted our title back.”
