Before Georgetown Visitation seniors Gianna Meloni and Veronika Pettey were Division I hockey recruits, they had to learn to skate like everybody else. On Friday afternoon, the two were reminded of their ordinary beginnings when they helped their club team, the Washington Pride, teach a children’s skating clinic.
“It’s cool to see what I was like when I was their age,” Meloni said. “It’s a big step because this isn’t a good area for hockey traditionally speaking, so it’s nice to teach kids who’ve never played before.”
