In the District, St. John’s quarterback Kasim Hill earned the Gatorade player of the year distinction after guiding the Cadets to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship game during his lone season at the Northwest Catholic school. The Maryland recruit transferred to St. John’s last winter after beginning his high school career at Gilman and quickly became the driving force of the team’s offense because of his dual-threat ability.
