When the wildest bench-clearing brawl Friendship Collegiate defensive end Vaughn Taylor can remember was over, the senior’s thoughts drifted back to the moment when he realized the Knights were going to celebrate a championship Saturday.
It happened on their opening drive, when teammate Dontay Demus hauled in a nifty 32-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown. Backed by the confidence from a season full of defensive masterpieces, Taylor decided then, “They’re not going to score on us.”
