Luka Garza rose from his seat on the bench after watching his teammate, EJ Jarvis, cut into a wide-open lane and slam his sixth and final dunk of the night.
This one, early in the fourth quarter, was the exclamation point in Maret’s 88-70 over H.D. Woodson. After giving up a late double-digit lead to Sidwell Friends last week, the Frogs finished as strong as they started Saturday night in the finale of the Hoopfest Reloaded showcase at Wilson High in Tenleytown.
“If [Garza is] out, I’m just trying to replicate what he does on the court,” Jarvis said. “I’m just trying to get the team together, be that person that knows everything that’s going on.”
