Daytia Foote couldn’t pinpoint when and how it started, but at some point this season the Anacostia senior began rolling up the left pant leg on her Anacostia shorts. It’s not a fashion statement. “It’s just comfortable like that,” she said.
It seems to be helping her game — the latest evidence coming in a 56-29 victory at Bell on Wednesday in Northwest.
A fourth-year varsity player, Foote has grown more comfortable in her role each season. The 6-foot-2 forward has been a steady contributor on defense as a shot blocker and rebounder, but this winter she has emerged as an offensive weapon, more than doubling her scoring output from last season with 11.1 points per game.
