Washington, DC – The District of Columbia State Athletic Association is teaming up with the American Cancer Society for the Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge. The fundraising effort allows high school teams to create their own fundraising pages for the campaign, which begins Feb. 1 and runs through March 5. Teams then solicit pledges for each three-point basket the team makes during the campaign. Donations go directly to the American Cancer Society and its life-saving mission.

“We are proud to be a part of the Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge,” DCSAA Executive Director Clark Ray said. “Cancer touches many of our student-athletes’ lives in some way, shape or form. Supporting the American Cancer Society and drawing attention to the fight against cancer is an important cause that we want to participate in.”

D.C. teams are encouraged to form their own fundraising pages at https://pledgeit.org/for/acs-dc.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and youth coaches of all sports that empowers coaches, their teams and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership and professional excellence of coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities and advocacy programs.
