The Sidwell Friends boys’ basketball team began the season loaded with talent and widely considered the team to beat in the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference. Now the Quakers must press on without their most dynamic playmaker.
Guard Jelani Williams will miss the remainder of his senior season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The injury occurred on a non-contact play during a Dec. 26 practice at the Northwest Washington school. Williams jumped for a pass and his left knee buckled as he landed. He stayed down for about 10 minutes before coaches carried him off the court.
