Isaiah Jennings fought off the contact and banked in the off-balance layup with his outstretched left hand. He pumped his right fist in the air, then sank the free throw. After a defensive stop on the ensuing possession, the Wilson senior was at it again, flying down court and rising for a putback. Jennings clapped his hands together and celebrated as a tight fourth quarter of a road game against Dunbar turned into a healthy lead and a 60-53 victory.
The Tigers (14-2, 4-0 DCIAA) have counted on different players to step up throughout their 14-game winning streak. When their lead dwindled to three points after three quarters Wednesday night at Dunbar, Jennings took over. The 6-foot-3 guard finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.
