Luka Garza arrived at Maret a slight 6-foot-7 and 180 pounds. While the freshman wasn’t yet a presence in the low block, he found a way to contribute for the Frogs from the start.
“I was too skinny to do much, but I could always shoot,” said the senior, who is now 6-foot-11 and 240-pounds.
Garza can still shoot, as well as run the floor, rebound, control the paint, and effect a game in just about any other way. On Monday, the Iowa commit was named the 2016-17 Gatorade D.C. Boys Basketball player of the year.
