It was during pickup games this past year that Casey Morsell could feel his game turning a corner.
Morsell wasn’t particularly stronger than the others on the court, or faster, or any more athletic. But the sophomore guard’s shot selection indicated blooming confidence. He started taking step-back threes. He pulled-up even if there was a hand in his face. Most of the time the ball went in. Occasionally it didn’t.
What mattered was that the shots were going up at all.
