Gonzaga celebrated its second straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference boys’ cross-country title Saturday afternoon at Bull Run Regional Park in raucous fashion, with team members singing a joyous, if off-key, rendition of the Eagles’ fight song while hoisting their new hardware.
The trophy might be new, but the ritual was familiar — it marked the Eagles’ sixth WCAC title since 2008, a level of dominance Coach John Ausema attributes to his runners’ dedication to the sport.
